Books, What are they good for?

Delightful! Make that chain long enough and you could start it going when you go to bed at night and have it ring a bell that wakes you up in the morning.

Let's see that's 40 volunteers laboring for 2 hours to set up 4846 books for a 640 meter run over 6 minutes.

Eight hours would be 80 times as much or:

320 volunteers working for that same 2 hours to set up 387,680 books that were spaced over 54.4 km.

I suspect an alarm clock might make more sense.
